Volunteer Work
In order to develop my teaching skills I have volunteered my time at various schools and programs. I believe that this has provided me with a greater insight into the profession of teaching with also providing me with additional experience and therefore strategies.
Emmaus Primary Mount Clear
Role I undertook: Classroom Assistant Grade 5/6 Umpire at interschool sports Photographer on cross country day Person of Contact: Peter Fahey Ph: 5330 2266 Email: [email protected] |
Volunteering at Emmaus gave me the opportunity to experience a setting which is different from the traditional classroom approach. Emmaus uses team teaching and provide students with the opportunity to take part in their own learning.

Throughout this program spent several days with Indigenous students from various schools in Ballarat. I worked with year nine students and completed workshops with them on Identity, Personal growth and Art. This program enabled me to build relationships with the students and gave me an insight into the Indigenous culture and some of the things that they are faced with.
