As I am a graduate teacher I recognise the fact that I still have a lot to learn. For this reason I believe that it is essential that I work alongside others in order to receive support and assistance.
Some examples of where I have demonstrated teamwork and cooperation include:
Team planning alongside the 3/4 team at Essendon Primary
Team teaching both at Yuille Park and Ballarat High
Attending staff and PD days on all of my placements
Group assignments at university
Seeking advice and resources from a range of different teachers (not only limited to my mentor teacher)
Participating in the soup lunch roster with staff at St Johns Lutheran school
Witnessing how disputes between staff are dealt with
Spending time getting to know and networking with staff
Working on a team enterprise unit with a group of four others to put together a day trip for disadvantaged children
Here I am pictured (far right) with my team enterprise team at our expedition. Together we have worked alongside Sister Marie Vagg to put together a 'Kids Day Out' for the disadvantaged children of Sebastopol. This project took a lot of teamwork, organisation, networking and commitment. It taught me that working together can make a task easier.
Above are some pictures that I took while volunteering for the 'Kids Day Out' holiday program in September 2014.
During my first three placements I was placed with a professional partner. I took full advantage of the situation and worked with them and together reflected on different aspects of the placement. I found that we were able to share ideas, thoughts and resources. Below is some feedback from my professional partners who I completed placement with.
I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take part in team teaching on two of my placements. This has assisted me in recognising the benefits of working alongside other individuals. Team teaching enables you to bounce ideas off others, work with them and share ideas.
Here is a photo of my team that I conducted team teaching with while on placement at Ballarat High. Together we planned, taught and implemented a unit on teen issues.
