REFLECTION
Reflection is a vital component of being a teacher. It allows you to identify both strengths and weaknesses, to recognise what you would do differently next time and ultimately allows you to learn from your experiences. Throughout my time on placement and doing volunteer work at schools I have constantly reflected upon my teaching practises. I have done this by discussing lessons, thoughts and ideas with my mentor teachers, writing personal reflections on individual lessons that I can revisit at a later date, getting students to reflect upon my teaching and provide me with feedback, writing formal reflections in my assessment booklets, setting goals for future development and simply reflecting upon my actions on the car ride home each day.
